Subscriptions

Create topics to classify your email messages and allow recipients to manage which emails they will receive.

  • Email subscription training video (30 mins):

  • To activate Subscriptions:

1) From Mailing Subscriptions, create a few Subscriptions and check the “Is Public” tick box

2) From within any type of Mailing, use the Code Snippet pick list within the HTML editor of our email content builder to add the Subscription Center link to your email body. When people receive your email, they can click this link to subscribe to the topics you setup.

3) To customize your Subscription Center page with your company logo and color scheme, go to CRM Settings and within the ribbon bar, click on Subscription Center (you must have the CRM system administer security role to edit any CoreMotives settings). In this section, you may also use your own custom language, and set a custom mailing definition for your double opt-in confirmation email.

  • Creating Subscriptions:

When creating a subscription, you must define a type. You can think of your subscription as a filter on who will receive your email:

  1. Opt-In: People must join the subscription before they will receive your emails
  2. Opt-Out: Everyone will receive your email, unless they have opted out
  3. Double Opt-In: At signup, a confirmation email will be triggered that must be accepted

Within the Marketing section of a Subscription you can see subscription recipient details:

  • Mailings: See a list of all mailings where this subscription is included
  • Contact / Leads Opt-Ins: See which people have opted into this subscription.
  • Contact / Lead Opt-Outs: See which people have opted out of this subscription

  • Manually Subscribe Contacts & Leads:

From a Contact or Lead record you may subscribe/unsubscribe a person to different email subscription topics you create. For example, as part of your list building process, your organization could ask people they speak with if they would like to receive your email newsletter – if they say yes, you may subscribe them via this feature. CoreMotives tracks which person in your organization has subscribed contacts and leads so that you will have an audit trail in case you are asked to defend yourself in a CAN-SPAM dispute. These screen shots can help you understand this feature better:

Image 1 – Click Subscription Manager from a Contact or Lead.

Image 2 – Subscriptions created will be visible. Select the option you want and Submit.

Image 3 – From a Contact or Lead, select Opt-Ins or Opt-Outs to see information on Subscriptions the person has. You can see the date subscribed, the date they confirmed (if the subscription type is a double opt-in) and you will also see who subscribed them, and their IP address.
